Location ideas

For our trailer idea the locations we need are:
  • A house
  • An alleyway or a quiet car park
  • A room with a big table - preferably a round table
  • A large building in a busy city
  • A park
  • A large hall to be used as a court room
  • A long (quiet) corridor

For the house we have two possible locations, we have chosen these two as we can use them anytime we want too and they are easy to get to - this allows us to be more flexible in our filming. The first scene  of the trailer is also inside the house with a family around a table. This is possible in both houses, although the house on the right has more space and a larger table so would work better when filming. The house on the right also looks like a friendly family home, this is the message we want to get across to the audience as this will make them feel more sympathetic towards the family when their daughter is abducted.

This alley is next to Ellie's house so is also easy to use and allows our filming to be more flexible. Although we wanted to use this for a fight/chase scene and it is very thin for this purpose so for the actual fight we could use a car park so there is more space making it easier to film.

For the meeting in the trailer we want a room that looks like this, we hope to re create something like this in a school classroom.

For the scenes outside of the court we were thinking about going up to London to film as we need a building with big steps outside to achieve the scene we want. This is also a busy city so will make the shots seem more effective. We also thought that this would act as a selling point for the film as London is a big tourist attraction and big cities in films usually draw an audience in. The National Portrait Gallery (left) would be a good location for these shots as there are steps to the side and the building is old which is usually what court buildings look like. However, this location would probably be quite busy so we would have to think about the time and day that we went to film. Although St. Martin's palace (right) seems like the better location as it still has the steps that we need and the outside of the building is similar to the National Gallery, the road is also quieter making filming easily. Unfortunately, we would not be able to get access to St. Martins palace so the National Gallery would be the best option.

For the park scene we are going to use Ashtead park as it is easy for us to get too and we can lso use it anytime, however, we would also have to be careful what time we would film it is as we wouldn't want the park to be crowded especially as we plan to do the abduction scene at the park.
